200ml recently pressed lemon juice
500g fine sugar

For the Cocktail (yields 850ml, enough for 10)

Fresh cranberries, to garnish

Making the Syrup: Place every items inside a pan, heat until it reaches a light boil, agitating until the sugar dissolves. After that, remove from the stove and leave to cool fully. Pour to a sterilised bottle, close it and refrigerate it chilled, it can be stored for about one month.

For the Cocktail Base: Pour the specified spirits and syrup into a big jug, let it rest for one hour, then strain preferably using cheesecloth, so it's perfectly clear.

To serve: Pour 85ml from the cocktail base into a cocktail shaker packed with ice, and stir carefully for a minute until cold. Pour into a cold coupe glass or equivalent, decorate with the cranberries and complete it using a light spray of mandarin oil over the drink.
